What Your Warranty Covers
Every BD Lights installation is backed by comprehensive protection for the products we supply and install, covering normal residential use from day one.
20-Year Coverage
Fixtures
- All landscape lighting fixtures supplied and installed by BD Lights are covered for 20 full years from the installation date.
- Covers any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions.
- Applies to path lights, spotlights, up-lights, well lights, wall-wash fixtures, and all other installed luminaires.
20-Year Coverage
Transformers
- Your low-voltage transformer is covered for 20 years against manufacturing defects and component failure under normal use.
- Covers internal component failure, circuit board defects, and output failures not caused by external factors.
- Applies to all transformer models and brands supplied by BD Lights during installation.
15-Year Coverage
Bulbs & Lamps
- LED bulbs and lamps installed by BD Lights are warranted for 15 years against premature failure and defects.
- Covers early failure outside expected rated lifespan, colour inconsistency from manufacturing, and lumen degradation beyond normal wear.
Exclusions
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
Our warranty is designed to protect against product failure – not damage caused by external events, mishandling, or unauthorized modifications.
- Misuse of Products : Using fixtures, transformers, or components outside of their intended purpose or beyond their specified operating parameters. This includes overloading circuits or using incompatible accessories.
- Accidental Damage : Physical damage resulting from accidents such as being struck by a lawnmower, vehicle, or other equipment; impact from falling objects; or unintentional breakage during normal yard activities.
- Unauthorized Alteration or Tampering : Any damage resulting from modifications, repairs, or alterations performed by anyone other than an authorized BD Lights technician. This includes attempts to open, rewire, or modify fixtures or transformers.
- Damaged or Cut Wiring : Damage to low-voltage cables caused by digging, landscaping, aeration, or any other activity that severs, cuts, pinches, or otherwise compromises the wiring after installation.
- Acts of God / Force Majeure : Damage caused by natural events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to lightning strikes, flooding, hail, severe storms, ice damage, or other extreme weather events.
- Third-Party Installation or Repairs : Any products not originally installed by BD Lights, or repairs and modifications performed by a third party without prior written authorization from BD Lights Inc.
